Charminster church being 'destroyed' by flooding

A Grade I-listed church in Dorset is being "destroyed" by flood water.

Susan Pearson, whose husband, Jonathan, is a church warden, said the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Charminster, was being battered by the bad weather.

Mrs Pearson says a nearby council-owned Grade II-listed bridge , externalis a major cause of the flood problems and should be removed and replaced.

But Dorset County Council said it could not remove the bridge because of its English Heritage listing.

BBC Radio Solent's Dorset reporter Laurence Herdman filmed the flood water.
