Jay Whiston's mother takes knife campaign to Westminster

A mother whose son was stabbed to death in Essex took her fight for tougher penalties for people with knives to Westminster.

Jay Whiston, 17, died three months ago after he was attacked during a party in Colchester. Nine people have been questioned by police and released on bail.

His mother, Caroline Shearer, has gathered 15,000 signatures on a petition and her local MP Douglas Carswell (Conservative) insists more should be done to tackle knife crime.
