Essex A12 lorry overtaking ban 'ridiculous'

A plan to ban lorries from overtaking on a long stretch of the A12 in Essex has been branded "ridiculous" by hauliers.

The county council has voted in favour of a ban between Marks Tey and Boreham between 06:00 and 22:00 to ease traffic flow, claiming lorry drivers cause a nuisance, danger and congestion.

But one lorry driver said a ban would cause more congestion and possibly more accidents.
