Police investigate Colchester hospital cancer treatment
Police have been called in to investigate Colchester General Hospital in Essex after inspectors found "serious concerns" over the treatment of cancer patients.
The chief inspector of hospitals has also recommended that the trust which runs the hospital be placed in special measures.
The inspection by the Care Quality Commission was carried out during August and September.
It found 22 cancer patients had received unsafe care and evidence that some patient records had been altered to record the dates of treatment incorrectly.
