Triple amputee Alex Stringer designs picnic bench for disabled people

A former soldier from Essex who was severely injured serving in Afghanistan has designed a picnic bench for disabled people.

Triple amputee Alex Stringer, 23, said he drew on the experience of his own disability when designing the bench, which is made from recycled plastic.

He told BBC Look East's Gareth George about the design, and how he has been coping with his injuries.

Steve Schollar, from Help for Heroes, and Sarah Sharlott, of Realise Futures, also pay tribute to Mr Stringer.
