East of England Ambulance Trust 'sorry' for pregnancy death

A woman suffering an ectopic pregnancy died because an ambulance crewed by untrained staff did not recognise her condition.

Trudy Glenister was pronounced dead soon after she arrived at Southend Hospital, an inquest heard.

The East of England Ambulance Trust apologised to the family.

The dead woman's sister Paula Chapman said patients should be warned that they could be taken to hospital in vehicles crewed by untrained people.
