Cyclist's jaw rebuilt using 3D printer after bike crash

A man who lost his jaw in a bike crash has had it rebuilt thanks to a 3D printer.

George Boden suffered the injury in an accident near his home close to Chelmsford in 2011.

Medics managed to create a new jaw using bone from his shoulder and a titanium plate.

But they were able to refine his face and plan more detailed surgery after a 3D model of his jaw was made.

The 3D model was also used to give him new bottom teeth and a second 3D model was used to increase the size of Mr Boden's mouth.
