Gloucester Cathedral taken over by skate festival

The normal silence and serenity of Gloucester's 1,300-year-old cathedral has been shattered by the sound of wheels on ramps.

For the first time in its history, a skate festival is being held in the nave with hoards of skateboarders and micro scooter riders rolling around underneath the colourful light from a stained glass window the size of a tennis court.

The festival, hosted by Christian Skaters UK, is on until Thursday.
