New Forest's World War II stories explored by Heritage Lottery Fund

The story of the New Forest's involvement in World War II is to be collected in a two year project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Volunteers will help collect memories of sites like the one at Ibsley which has the remnants of a bunker complex overlooking an historic airfield.

Photographs and other records will also be gathered about the 280 other wartime sites in the forest.
