Campaign for statue of pilot Samuel Cody

A statue could be created in memory of the first person to pilot a powered flight in Britain.

In October 1908, American Samuel Cody took off from Farnborough Common in Hampshire for a flight which lasted a mere 30 seconds.

Despite his achievements, the landmark moment has never been publicly acknowledged and a campaign to erect a statue 100 years after his death has begun.
