New anti-drink measures introduced in Portsmouth
A scheme to ban the sale of super-strength alcohol has been launched in Portsmouth.
Off-licences are being asked by the city council and Hampshire Police to stop selling some beers, lagers or cider with an alcohol volume of more than 6.5%.
The scheme, which aims to reduce drink-related crime, has been backed by about 25 stores in the city.
The council estimates alcohol misuse costs the city more than £70m a year.
