Snail filled pasty to mark D-Day in Southwick
Southwick Village Stores in Hampshire has been selling "snail filled" pasties as part of the village's commemorations marking the area's involvement in the build up to the D-Day landings in 1944.
During World War 2 the village was used as a base for allied commanders, and to hide troops from German bombers, and Churchill and Eisenhower held secret meetings there in the local pub.
In June the village is planning to mark the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings with a big commemoration event.
