Milford on Sea trapped diners rescued from floods

Valentine's Day diners were rescued from a beach front restaurant in Hampshire hit by flood water and shingle, which smashed the windows.

Emergency services helped 32 diners who had been having a meal at the Marine Restaurant in Milford on Sea.

Diner Cherry Waite said: "We felt because we were all enjoying ourselves that it was a bit like the Titanic.

"There was tides and rain licking up from the outside."

An army vehicle was used to transport the diners from the restaurant on Hurst Road to Lymington recreation centre.
