Pod of dolphins spotted off Isle of Wight
A pod of up to 30 dolphins has been filmed off the Isle of Wight
They were spotted off Ventnor on Monday by island resident Ed Blake who went out on a boat with his sister Daisy to capture images of the bottlenose dolphins.
He said: "Up next to them, they were huge animals and instantly intrigued by us. It was pretty special."
He said it was unusual to see the sea mammals in such numbers off the Isle of Wight.
Kathy James of the Sea Watch Foundation, external said such footage helped with research into the dolphins' origins and movements.
"We are thrilled that observers were able to capture this incredible, energetic footage of these charismatic creatures," she said.
