Heart transplant boy Elliot Livingstone has 'second chance at life'

A family whose two-year-old son waited 14-months in hospital for a heart transplant said they have been "given a second chance at life".

Elliot Livingstone, from Basingstoke, was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy shortly after his birth in 2013.

As he waited 420 days for a donor, Elliot was fitted with a "Berlin Heart" - which pumps blood from outside the body.

The toddler returned to his home earlier this month after having surgery in March.
