The Isle of Wight's new £3.2m chain ferry across the River Medina at Cowes has been beset by problems since entering service in May.
Cars scraped their bumpers disembarking the chain ferry, the vessel broke down and ran aground and residents have complained about noise levels, leading the council to suspend the service four months later.
