BBC South reporter takes on 220-mile King Alfred's Way cycling tour

A BBC presenter has swapped the studio for the saddle to tour the south of England.

Jon Cuthill is spending five days cycling the 220-mile King Alfred's Way.

In recent years the route has become increasingly popular with cyclists and businesses have cashed in on the trade.

King Alfred's Way starts in Winchester and takes in four counties with some spectacular sights along the way.

On the first day of his journey, the BBC South Today presenter cycled to Market Lavington in Wiltshire and met some of the other cyclists taking on the challenge.
