Gosport fox with tube stuck around its neck is rescued

A fox spotted with a plastic tube stuck around its neck has been rescued.

Residents in Gosport, Hampshire, first reported sightings of the animal two weeks ago.

Steve Mason, from Second Chance Fox Rescue and Rehabilitation, was able to catch the animal on Friday morning.

He said it had been a "team effort" to find the fox, who he described as being in "a sorry state" due to injuries caused by the tube.

Mr Mason said the animal was being assessed after rescuers were able to get it safely into a pet carrier and transport it back to the rehab centre for treatment.
