Hereford FC celebrates booking Wembley trip

A football club has reached a Wembley final in its first season.

Hereford FC, which was formed after the financial collapse of Hereford United, will play north-east side Morpeth in the FA Vase final on Sunday, 22 May.

The old club was wound up in a London High Court in December 2014.

The new club was born thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteer fans who gave their time and money.

Hereford FC chief executive Ken Kinnersley said: "This would make a fantastic film, this whole story, from people being stuck in taxis unable to get to the High Court to a trip to Wembley.

"It is a fantastic story."
