Snow angels to snow ploughs: A day spent in the snow

Children across the Midlands have enjoyed a day of playing in the school because heavy snow has forced many schools to shut.

But for drivers in particular, many roads away from major routes remain hazardous. Dave Throup, from the Environment Agency, said it had offered its 4x4 vehicles to NHS staff trying to get to patients.
