BBC Children in Need: Hereford charity helps girl cope with loss of dad

Katy's world was turned upside down when her dad Richard - with whom she had a close bond - died from cancer, last year.

Since then, the 15-year-old has been supported by Herefordshire-based charity Hope Support Services.

It provided help to 440 young people in 2022, thanks to funding from BBC Children in Need.

Last year, the charity also advised EastEnders scriptwriters on the storyline surrounding Lola Pearce's brain tumour and her daughter Lexi discovering the news.
