Humberstone Fitties residents to launch European court battle over chalets

Residents campaigning to live in their chalets for 50 weeks a year have said they will take their fight to the European Court of Human Rights.

People living in the Humberston Fitties, near Cleethorpes, say "archaic" leases limiting their stay to ten months need changing.

The move came as North East Lincolnshire Council leaders threatened to to cut-off power and water to 300 chalets.

It wants the residences locked up in winter because they are classed as holiday homes.
