Aviation pioneer Amy Johnson immortalised in virtual reality

The first woman pilot to fly solo from Britain to Australia has been brought back to life in virtual reality form.

A digital 3D version of Amy Johnson has been created by the University of Hull and Glasgow School of Art to mark 75 years since her death.

An actress voiced the aviation pioneer and her movements were recorded using a motion tracking camera to create a digital character.

The pilot from Hull completed the journey from London to Darwin in 19 days in 1930.
