Tour of Hull's new £200m waste energy plant

The BBC has been given access to a £200m power plant that will produce electricity from household waste.

The project's developers claim Energy Works, built on the banks of the River Hull, will generate sufficient electricity to power 43,000 homes.

More than 240,000 tonnes of commercial and domestic waste a year will be turned into gas, which will then be burnt to generate electricity. It is expected to start operating in April 2018.
