Medieval Maidstone and Lambeth Bibles reunited

Two 12th century volumes of the Bible have been reunited at Lambeth Palace in London for only the second time since the Reformation.

The two volumes, one kept in the Lambeth Palace library and one at Maidstone Museum in Kent, are thought to have been commissioned by King Stephen in the 1100s, but became separated in the 16th Century.

The Bible volumes were brought together for two days to allow scholars to study them while attending a lecture about their origins.
