Kent family remembers VC hero of WW1

A Kent man who received the Victoria Cross posthumously during World War One, will be remembered by his extended family, who are to hold a party in his honour.

Cheryl Butler, from Nettlestead, near Maidstone, said the family of Sgt Thomas Harris treasures a photograph of him taken during the war.

His home town of Malling, near Rochester, has a street named after the hero who died trying to capture an enemy machine gun post.
