Day-trippers flocked to Margate's Dreamland

Generations of day-trippers from London and beyond used to flock to Margate's Dreamland by coach and rail for a day out at the seaside.

The park closed 10 years ago and early plans for its redevelopment failed to come to fruition.

The Grade II*-listed scenic railway wooden rollercoaster went rotten and was then badly damaged in an arson attack in 2008.

BBC South East's Robin Gibson reports on the park's chequered history, as a revamped Dreamland opens its doors again.
