Calais traffickers charging migrants £1,200 to cross Channel
A network of people smugglers is orchestrating the apparent chaos in Calais which sees migrants trying to board lorries and trains to cross the English Channel.
An undercover investigation by South East Today's Colin Campbell has found that as soon as would-be migrants arrive at the camp known as "The Jungle" they are approached by traffickers who offer to get them to Kent for £1,200 each.
No cash changes hands; migrants are told to wire the money to accounts in London and Afghanistan.
