Junk food banned from Broadstairs school

Unhealthy food and drinks are being confiscated from secondary school pupils in an effort to promote healthy eating.

Students at The Charles Dickens School in Broadstairs, Kent, face bag checks every morning.

The school said it had noticed a deterioration in concentration, learning and behaviour from pupils who brought in "large multi-packs of unhealthy food, snacks and drinks".
