Alan Shearer has Blackburn street named after him

The Premier League's all-time record goalscorer Alan Shearer has had a street named after him in Blackburn.

The former England striker, who scored 260 goals in 441 games with Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United, was on hand to unveil the street sign for Alan Shearer Way in the Lancashire town.

Shearer won the Premier League with Rovers in 1995, before moving to his hometown club a year later.
