Jimi Heselden's £23m charity fund continues to help

The distribution of a posthumous £23m fund left by a former miner continues to help the people of east Leeds where he lived.

Jimi Heselden, who died in 2010, founded the Leeds-based company Hesco Bastion and was the owner of the Segway company.

He left an estate of more than £340m after growing up in the Halton Moor area of Leeds, leaving school at 15 and working at local collieries until losing his job in a wave of redundancies in the 1980s.
