Flood-hit Todmorden canal reopens after £3m of repairs

A section of the Rochdale Canal near Todmorden in West Yorkshire has reopened after being closed for the past 10 months because of damage caused by flooding.

Hundreds of homes and businesses were hit when the River Calder burst its banks on Boxing Day, causing tonnes of debris, stone and sand to wash into the 200-year old canal.

Work to repair the canal has cost about £3m.
