East Midlands pupils celebrate their GCSE results

A teenager from Nottinghamshire who fell and broke her back was among thousands of pupils collecting their GCSEs on Thursday.

Chloe Warren, from Colonel Frank Seely School, said she was delighted with her results.

But amid the celebrations across the East Midlands, there was also frustration from head teachers about the tightening of marking and changes being made to GCSE courses.

Eleanor Garnier spoke to Vondra Mays, head teacher at Colonel Frank Seely School, Denise Gould, head teacher at Derby High School and Melvyn Berry, principal at Soar Valley College, as well as some celebrating pupils.
