Sir David Attenborough helps Bradgate Park campaign

Sir David Attenborough has returned to a Leicestershire tourist attraction he first visited as a child to help launch a fundraising appeal.

The Rotary Club of Leicester wants to create a visitor centre in Bradgate Park, at a cost of £150,000.

Sir David said the park was a place he visited with his family.

He added: "It was a vision of what the English countryside could be like - which has stayed with me for ever."
