WW1 'celebrity' Leicestershire war horse remembered

A Leicestershire war horse, who spent four years on the front line during World War One, has been remembered.

In 1914, Songster was drafted into the Leicestershire Yeomanry, which was sent to France at the start of the war.

Songster, who became a local celebrity when he returned home, died at the age of 40 in 1940 at a farm in Woodhouse Eaves.
