Lincolnshire farmers take precautions to protect against bovine TB

Lincolnshire cattle farmers are taking action to prevent the spread of a disease which could see their cows being slaughtered.

Bovine TB has been found in animals in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and there are fears it could spread across the border.

Jonathan Brant, who farms near Market Rasen, said: "It's like a silent killer, You don't know where it is, you don't know what's happening.

"The little precautions that we can do now, which are probably going to be slightly painful, are not going to be as painful as if you get TB in this county."

Alison Pratt, from the National Farmers' Union said farmers need to be sure where their cattle has come from and what their TB status is.
