Councillor insists Brent libraries campaign will go on

A councillor opposing Brent Council's plans to close six libraries has said the fight against the closures will continue after campaigners lost a court battle.

Brent SOS Libraries had sought a judicial review on the grounds that the decision was "flawed" as it failed to assess local needs and the impact of the closures but a judge ruled against the campaigners.

But Paul Lorber, leader of the Liberal Democrats on Labour-controlled Brent Council, said there were strong grounds for an appeal against the court's decision.
