School sports venues 'missing out on revenue'

Secondary schools in London could be missing out on hundreds of thousands of pounds a year by failing to make the most of their facilities.

Most schools have halls or all-weather sports pitches but research suggests at least a third do not bother renting them out after hours.

BBC London's Marc Ashdown visited Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton, south London, which does hire out its sports venues, and talked to William Swannell, founder of Hirespace.com, who said schools could expect to make up to £500,000 a year.
