Many Londoners struggle without friends, says poll

A third of people living in London do not know their neighbours, according to a BBC London poll.

The poll, which examined attitudes to loneliness, also found that a third of Londoners find it hard to maintain friends in the capital.

BBC London's Anjana Gadgil meets Bernhard Luther who lost his job 20 years ago and now spends two days a week at the Camden Town Shed doing carpentry.

The charity is run by Mike Jenn who says people who lose their "work role" find it hard to fill their time.

Single mother Collette Downey talks about how hard it is bringing up a baby with no support.
