Prison assaults are a 'part of the culture'

As BBC London learns that the number of reported assaults in London's male prisons has risen by a third over the past four years, former inmate Aaron French says fights are part of prison culture.

And shadow justice secretary Sadiq Khan said it could lead to prisoners reoffending when they were released.

Frances Crook, the chief executive if the Howard League for Penal Reform, also gives her views.
