Twickenham grave of Anzac war hero restored

The London grave of a British general who led Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli has been restored after falling into disrepair.

General Sir William Birdwood, known as Birdy to the Anzacs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corp), also led troops in France and Belgium during World War I.

Lindsay Birrell of the charity London Legacy, which looks after the families of Australian war veterans, said the grave in Twickenham was important to Australians.
