Survivor recalls wartime crush which killed 173

Missing a bus probably saved the life of Babette Clarke, her mother and sister.

It meant they were not among the first to enter the Tube shelter at Bethnal Green Station 70 years ago; their lives were spared as the panic spread.

The sound she recalls as "hundreds of rockets going off" turned out to be a new type of anti-aircraft rocket, and not a raid by the enemy.
