Probe into Pimlico pavement blast

An investigation has been launched after pedestrians had a narrow escape when two explosions took place on a pavement in central London.

The blasts, believed to have been caused by a faulty power cable, shook nearby buildings on Pimlico Road on Thursday.

BBC London understands that 42 similar explosions have been reported since the beginning of 2012.

Eyewitnesses Charles Walker and Susie de Carteret spoke to BBC London's Sonja Jessup.
