Londoners 'renting for decades'

Young Londoners are having to spend decades renting and saving before they are able to buy a property in the capital, a new report has found.

Housing charity Shelter said its research found that couples who start a family in their 20s could be saving for a deposit for 20 years before being able to purchase a property in the city.

BBC London's political correspondent Karl Mercer spoke to Charlotte Davis who wants to get on the property ladder and Antonia Bance from Shelter.
