London billboard adverts replaced by artworks

Fifty-seven of the country's most popular artworks are to replace adverts on billboards across London.

For two weeks, giant images of works spanning six centuries and all genres will feature on hoardings.

Artist Sir Peter Blake described it as a "great idea" and "a continuum of street art", while the only living artist whose work is in the collection, Cornelia Parker, said it was "fantastic".

Art Everywhere founder Richard Reed urged people to "collect them - play art bingo".
