Set up 'free labour mobility zone', urges Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson has been criticised by an MEP for comments he made about Britain's ties with the European Union, which he says discriminate against Commonwealth nationals.

Writing in a British newspaper while on a visit to Australia, the London Mayor said the UK should set up a "free labour mobility zone".

He said the move would end "outrageous and indefensible" discrimination and encourage migration between the two countries.

BBC London's Marc Webber spoke to Sarah Ludford, Member of the European Parliament for London, and Alex Ivett, from the Australian Times newspaper.
