London school places shortage 'a big stress'

London's shortage of school places is said to be putting "unprecedented pressure" on the city's 32 local authorities.

Steve Franck's son Jago is due to start Reception class but did not get into the six schools his family applied for. He will now have an hour's journey into another borough for school.

Councillor Peter John, of London Councils, tells Marc Ashdown he thinks local authorities will need to be given a bigger role in increasing the number of places.
