Firefighters to strike over pensions

Contingency plans for emergency fire cover are being finalised ahead of a four-hour strike by firefighters across London and the South East.

Fire Brigades Union members are due to walk out at midday on Wednesday in a row over pensions.

More than 70% of those balloted from within the union voted in favour of the industrial action.
