Dates set for closure of Chase Farm Hospital services

After nearly a decade of arguments, dates have finally been set for the closure of the maternity and A&E units at Chase Farm Hospital in north London.

Local GPs have decided that both units should close before Christmas, despite opposition from local campaigners.

Following the announcement, Enfield Council said it is preparing to take legal action to halt the closures.

BBC London's political correspondent Karl Mercer spoke with Liz Wise from Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group, Kate Wilkinson from Save Chase Farm Campaign, Mark Channell, the A&E lead for North Middlesex Hospital, Enfield Council leader Doug Taylor and Conservative MP for Enfield North Nick de Bois.
