'Mini-Magaluf' fear of resident who wants alcohol ban after midnight
A resident in Clapham has said he supports a proposed ban on selling alcohol after midnight because the area is becoming a "mini-Magaluf".
If approved, Lambeth could be one of the first local authorities in London to use the new law.
Patrick Watson said the bars around Wandsworth Road were too loud and that people spilled out into the streets.
But Rudy Weller, the owner of the Artesian Well, said if the ban was imposed it would force him out of business.
Councillor Jack Hopkins, a Labour member of Lambeth Council, said he wanted people to be safe on a night out and that at the moment, they were not.
